Input stream setup

0 Was this answer helpful?

The Decoder unit at the top of the rack receives your audio input via an Icecast HTTP stream.

Configuring the Input

  1. Click the settings button on the Decoder unit
  2. Enter your Icecast source stream URL, for example: http://your-server:8000/live
  3. Save the settings

Supported Input Formats

The compressor accepts any audio format supported by Icecast, including:

  • MP3
  • OGG Vorbis
  • AAC

The input is decoded and processed internally at full quality regardless of the source format.

Input Requirements

  • The input URL must be an HTTP or HTTPS Icecast stream
  • The stream must be publicly accessible from the internet (the processor connects to it from the cloud)
  • Internal/private network addresses are not supported

Monitoring Input Levels

Once connected, the Decoder's stereo VU meters will show your input audio levels. If the meters aren't moving, check that your source stream is actually sending audio and that the URL is correct.

Changing the Input

Changing the input URL requires a brief restart of the audio processor (1-2 seconds). The processor will automatically reconnect to the new stream.
