The 3-band output EQ sits after the multiband compressor and before the post-processing stage. It lets you shape the overall tonal balance of your processed audio.
EQ Bands
| Band | Type | Controls |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Low Shelf | Frequency, Gain |
| Mid | Parametric Peak | Frequency, Gain, Q (bandwidth) |
| High | High Shelf | Frequency, Gain |
Controls Explained
- Frequency — the centre frequency of the EQ band
- Gain (dB) — boost (positive) or cut (negative) at the selected frequency. 0 dB = no change
- Q (mid band only) — controls how wide or narrow the EQ adjustment is. Low Q = broad and gentle, high Q = narrow and surgical
Common Uses
- Add warmth — gentle low shelf boost at 80-120 Hz (+2 to +4 dB)
- Reduce muddiness — mid cut around 300-500 Hz with moderate Q
- Add presence — mid boost around 2-4 kHz for vocal clarity
- Add brightness — high shelf boost at 8-10 kHz (+2 to +3 dB)
- Reduce harshness — mid cut around 3-5 kHz with narrow Q
Tip: The EQ works best for broad tonal shaping. For surgical frequency-specific adjustments, use the per-band compressor thresholds and makeup gains instead.
All EQ changes take effect in real-time — no restart needed.
