The Master section controls the final output stage of the compressor and provides overall process control.
Master Gain
Adjusts the overall output level after all processing. Use this to set the final loudness of your output streams. Range: -24 to +24 dB.
Tip: If your output is too quiet after compression, increase the master gain rather than adjusting individual band makeup gains.
Limiter
A lookahead brickwall limiter that prevents the output from exceeding a set threshold. This protects against clipping and ensures your output stays within safe levels.
- Threshold (dBFS) — the maximum output level. -1 dBFS is a safe default for streaming
The limiter works in conjunction with the final clipper (if enabled in Post-Processing). The processing order is: Master Gain → Limiter → Final Clipper → Encoders.
Bypass
The bypass toggle passes audio through the system without any compression or processing. Input and output metering still works, so you can use bypass to compare your processed audio against the original.
Tip: Toggle bypass on and off while listening to hear the difference your processing makes. This is the best way to check you're improving the audio rather than just making it louder.
Power Button
Starts and stops the entire audio processing chain. When you press the power button:
- The status LCD shows STARTING while the processor initialises (a few seconds)
- Once ready, it shows RUNNING and audio flows through the system
- Press again to stop — the LCD shows STOPPED
If an error occurs, the LCD shows ERR. Check that your input URL and at least one encoder output are correctly configured.
Status Indicators
- STOPPED — processor is not running
- STARTING — processor is initialising (wait a few seconds)
- RUNNING — processor is active and audio is flowing
- ERR — an error occurred. Check your input and output configuration
